I blogged about Lydia & Olu’s beautiful Engagement Session here. We had a blast! Their Luxurious Multicultural (Ghanaian & Nigerian) Wedding was even more beautiful and fun. It was at one of the most beautiful mansions that I have ever found myself – Barclay Villa, Angier, North Carolina. For a Ghanaian/Nigerian Wedding, I have to say that I was impressed by how they were able to have less than 150 guests; an amazing feat for Africans, especially Nigerians. Our Weddings usually have an average of 300 guests in US and over 500 guests back in Nigeria. 🙂 I have shot two Weddings in Nigeria and each of them must have had over 500 guests. Unfathomable by American standards, I know. But hey, somehow some way, Lydia & Olu made less-than-150-guests happen. 🙂

Luckily, the Getting Ready was at Barclay Villa. The ceremony started afterward in their beautiful garden. The Wedding, then, continued with the reception in the mansion. As alluded to earlier, Lydia’s parents from Ghana and Olu’s parents are Nigerians, so you know they represented with their traditional attires. It was great seeing Lydia’s parents in the traditional Ghanaian Kente wear. All the teachers in my Primary school in Nigeria were Ghanaians, so I have a soft spot for my Ghanaian peoples. 🙂 Among several great highlights, one of my favorite highlights was their cake. Lydia was about to start dental school while Olu just finished dental school and opened his Dental clinic in Fayetteville. Using their career path as inspiration, they had their cake topped with what looked like 2 teeth. Loved it!! 🙂 I also loved the live band playing during the pouring of white sand and their idea of walking straight to the mansion’s balcony after the official Wedding ceremony to greet guests. And yes, Lydia and Olu also had a dance choreography. Mad fun!! Anyways, I will let the photos tell the rest of their beautiful love story!!

Big THANKS to Ernesto Sue for being my 2nd photographer. My friend and the one who introduced me to them – Dolapo Busuyi – was the Wedding Coordinator. This was her first gig and I remember encouraging her to look into Wedding Planning/Coordinator! She started with this Wedding and did an excellent job!

Hope you enjoy their beautiful photos.
